TREASURE HUNT

2 Corinthians 4:7 “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels; that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

Have you seen the movie, National Treasure? (The first one, not the second.)  The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat as a group of people search feverishly to find a treasure that has been passed down for centuries. What makes the movie so suspenseful is that there is another group of people following them and plotting to kill them and steal the treasure.

As you know, treasures are of great value, but they are not easy to find.  Often times, they are hidden and buried deeply beneath the surface of the earth covered by mounds and mounds of dirt so that no one can ever find it. While searching for a treasure, there are a few things you must take with you:  A map, so that you will be able to locate the treasure.  Patience - Finding treasures is a long, hard process.  Perseverance -You must be willing to endure, and not give up looking for the treasure.  Protection - You must also be aware that you will not be alone. There will always be someone seeking and searching for that very same treasure to steal it from you.  This all might sound like a difficult task, but remember, once the treasure is found, the contents are priceless.

2 Corinthians 4:7 is telling us that God has placed this priceless treasure deep down on the inside of us.  The Amplified Bible calls it a precious treasure.  These precious treasures are the desires and dreams that God has placed in our heart. Psalm 37:4 says “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

What is your dream?  What is your desire?  Are you having a hard time trying to figure it out?  I asked myself these questions one day, and they were very difficult to answer. I never really stopped to think about what my dreams were, because I was so busy going about my daily routine, that it never crossed my mind. One day, I stopped and realized that God has more for me.  I knew that God had called me, and it was time to go and do what He has called me to do.

Just like a treasure chest, our dreams and desires are often buried and hidden deep down in our heart.  They are covered by the mundane routine of daily life, and the trials and tribulations that often come up in our lives, making these dreams difficult to find. God wants you to find your treasure.  He wants you to find the dreams and desires that he has placed on the inside of you so that you can do what he has called you to do.  Over the next few months, we will be going on a treasure hunt--a hunt to find your desires and dreams.  In the meantime, think about what your dreams are, and as the months pass, we will together discover the many jewels that God has placed on the inside of us.

Our Mission

De Novo means anew. It was taken from the Scriptures:

2 Corinthians 5:17,
“If any man (woman) be in Christ he/she is a new creature, old things are passed away. Behold all things become new..” and Isaiah 43:19a, “Behold, I will do a new thing...”
therefore, De Novo Ministries means “A New Ministry”.

Our Mission Statement:

De Novo Ministries' mission is to redirect people to a closer, more intimate relationship with God.

We consider ourselves a "Church without Walls", whereby we go "into every city and place.." (Luke 10:1) to preach, teach, and declare the message that God has given us
