TREASURE HUNT
Finding Your Treasure
God’s GPS System – Part 4
HOLY SPIRIT

John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever…”

Have you ever been lost?  How did you feel?  Were you afraid?  I remember the time I got lost.  I was a little girl, living in New York City.  My class went on a trip to Rockefeller Center.  I was so excited. The tall buildings and the hustle and bustle of the people always stimulated me.  As the class walked down the busy streets, we passed numerous store windows with eye-catching decorations.  We passed Radio City Musical Hall with its marquis that read “Now Featuring the Radio City Rockettes.”  We passed hot dog vendors, and other people selling their wares on the sidewalks.  I was so distracted by the sights that I didn’t realize that I got separated from my class.  I stopped! I started to look franticly for my class.  Every face I looked into was not familiar to me.  Tears welded up in my eyes.  My heart beat out of control in my chest.  What was I going to do?  How was I going to find my class in all of these people?  I guess my fear showed horribly on my face, because a man came up to me and asked me if I was lost.  I told him that I was with my class, but somehow I got separated.  He directed me to a building where other schools were gathering.  Happily, I thanked him.  I went into that building, went down some stairs, and found many other schools, but I didn’t find mine. After a while, I saw my teacher and the rest of the students coming down the hallway.  What a relief I felt! How grateful I was to that man for putting me on the right path to finding my class.

Because we have so much to do on a day-to-day basis with going to work, taking care of our families, being involved with church and other activities, we have a tendency to get caught up or distracted from what we really want in life.  In Luke 10th Chapter, there was a woman who was so busy preparing for her guest that she lost sight of what her position in life was.  It says in Luke 10:40 that “… Martha was distracted with much serving…” We can get so busy being committed to so much, that, one day, we look up and realize that somehow, we got separated from what we were really called to do. I want you to know that God will come to your rescue when you get off track in your journey to finding your treasure.  John 14:18 says “I will not leave you orphans (alone). I will come to you.” John 14:16 says “And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever…”  That Helper is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, also known as the Parakletos, was sent to walk along side of you in life to “teach you all things.” (John 14:26), and “guide you into all truth.”(John 16:13).  After you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray and ask for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our personal “OnStar System”.  We can’t make this journey without Him.  He is one who will put you on the right path to finding your treasure.  He is the one who provides you with the power to reach your dreams.  Acts 1:8 says “...you shall have power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”  Talk to ya next time!  Love ya.

Our Mission

De Novo means anew. It was taken from the Scriptures:

2 Corinthians 5:17,
“If any man (woman) be in Christ he/she is a new creature, old things are passed away. Behold all things become new..” and Isaiah 43:19a, “Behold, I will do a new thing...”
therefore, De Novo Ministries means “A New Ministry”.

Our Mission Statement:

De Novo Ministries' mission is to redirect people to a closer, more intimate relationship with God.

We consider ourselves a "Church without Walls", whereby we go "into every city and place.." (Luke 10:1) to preach, teach, and declare the message that God has given us
