As you look through the scriptures, you will find that God used many methods to guide His children to their purpose. In the Book of Exodus, when Moses was leading the children of Israel out of Egypt to a new place, God provided them with a personal compass. Exodus 13:21-22 (Amp) "The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night." This pillar marked the presence of God. God gave himself to protect and guide his children along the route as they took their journey through the wilderness to their destination.
